PiB Exclusive – Falcons Training Camp

Your man along with Yella, Brit Meat, The Shad, and Bean traveled up I-985 to Flowery Branch to watch the red hot Atlanta Falcons practice in training camp on Sunday. The team looks GOOD! 1. First Round Pick Roddy White ended his contract holdout and appeared at training camp wearing the number 84. His listed at 6’1 and 201 pounds, but he looked much bigger. White had a good practice, and it looks like the Falcons are pushing this guy to be a starter.
2. Michael Vick started practice slow with several inaccurate passes, but he picked up the pace and ended strong. He still needs to work on looking for the deep threat.
3. Wide Receiver Peerless Price had a small cheering section. We haven’t given up on you yet.
4. Running Back T.J. Duckett and Fullback Justin Griffith practiced without pads.
5. Cornerback Allen Rossum is listed at 5’8, but I think he’s shorter than that.
6. To my surprise, Virginia Tech Quarterback Bryan Randall was signed to the practice squad. He looked better than second year QB backup Matt Schaub. I hope Randall makes the team.
7. There seems to be Atlanta-Blackburg connection. See Randall, Vick, Hall, McCadam, and Lehr.
8. Brit Meat noted that Linebacker Keith Brooking is a cutie.
9. Tackle Barry Stokes gets the “Most Social Autographer Award”. He spoke to everybody and made tons of jokes.
10. Defensive End Patrick Kerney suffered a slight shoulder injury near the middle of practice. He was pulled from drills and given ice.
