Georgia Men's Basketball is often an afterthought, but this year the team is making noise and demanding respect. I've caught a few games on the radio this season, but I haven't seen them in person. Yesterday, Wubya and I travelled to the Classic City to watch the Dawgs take on #10 Kentucky Wildcats in the recently renovated Coliseum, which was beautiful and rocking.
Doing warm ups and starting introductions, UGA seemed reserved. Initially, I thought the Bulldogs were intimidated, but as the game wore on I realized UGA wasn't intimidated, but rather they were just business-like in their approach. From the very beginning, UGA dominated Kentucky. Trey Thompkins finished with 25 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks. More impressively, he made 11 of 12 free throws. It looks like Coach Mark Fox has this program spiraling upward.
