The annual Thanksgiving weekend game between Georgia and Georgia Tech, appropriately known as "Good Old Fashion Hate" didn't dispoint as the Bulldogs held on to beat the Yellow Jackets in a sloppy turnover prone game. Aaron Murray finished the regular season making a strong case for All-SEC Freshman team honors, going 15 of 19 for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns. Washaun continued his dominance of Tech defenses, rushing for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns. He averaged almost nine yards a carry.
Wide reciever A.J. Green playing in what will probably be his last game Between the Hedges put on a clinic with amazing catch after amazing catch. He finished with a team high 97 yards. Senior wideout Kris Durham playing his final home game as a Bulldog caught a highlight worthy touchdown pass and finished with 90 yards. I'm not sure what Durham's stock is in the NFL draft, but I hope he gets shot in the league. Orson Charles and Bruce Figgins both caught touchdown passes. The Dawg defense never figured out how to stop Tech, but they did cause 4 turnovers. Justin Houston is a beast; hopefully, he'll stay for another year.
The win over Tech makes the Bulldogs bowl eligible. Unfortunately, it won't be a BCS or even a cool second tier bowl, like the Chick-fil-A or Capital One. ESPN speculates that they'll be bowling in Birmingham or Memphis. Eitherway, the Dawgs should benefit from an extra month of practice as the team prepares for life with A.J. Green and senior class.
