No one every said that change would be easy. If you elected President Obama and other congressional democrats in 2009, then you need to get out and vote in the midterm elections because we can't afford to let the Republicans/Tea Party folks turn back the hands of time. So far, President Obama has taken considerable steps to honor his campaign promises, but he has a long way to go and he can only finish the drill if we support him and congressional democrats who are willing to work with him. Although Republicans may try to paint President Obama's first year and half as a failure, they are completely wrong. Specificaly, the Obama Administration has accomplished the following:
- Ordered the closing of Guantanamo Bay;
- Ended combat operations in Iraq;
- Signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, which allows for equal pay for women performing equal work;
- Reauthorized the State Children's Health Insurance Program which allowed for an additional 4 million children to be covered by insurance;
- Signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which prohibit hate crimes against gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability;
- Signed the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act which increased the Pell Grant scholarship award;
- Signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 which pumped $787 billion into our failing economy and prevented a depression; and
- Signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act which completely overhauled the American healthcare system.

interesting thoughts, you are brainwashed as any liberal I have ever met, good luck to you on Tuesday, (remember) it's all about you!
Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure how stating accomplishments of the Obama's Administration (and approving them) constitutes me being brainwashed, but hey, I'll take it as a compliment.
