Remember

America changed after September 11, 2001. Our world got smaller as we learned that a small but determined non-governmental group could cause worldwide terror if left unchecked. We further learned that there are individuals committed to trying to destroy our democracy. So full of hate and committed to destruction, that they'd suicide bomb for their cause. Our eyes were opened and our hearts wounded.

More importantly, on September 11, 2001, we learned that even during our darkest day, everyday citizens emerge as heroes to protect and preserve the ideals we hold so true - freedom, tolerance, and equity. As we remember September 11, 2001, I ask that we hold these ideals close to our hearts and we all continue the good fight to preserve them.
