#7 Georgia 52, #13 Louisiana State 38

The Georgia Bulldogs finally played like National Title contenders with a convincing 52-38 victory over the Louisiana State Tigers at Tiger Stadium at Death Valley. My offensive game ball goes to Georgia’s rag-tag offensive line which created running lanes for tailback Knowshon Moreno and provided quarterback Matthew Stafford with plenty of time to throw the ball. Moreno finished with 163 yards and 1 touchdown while Stafford finished 17 of 26 for 249 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown. Stafford’s field vision impressed me as he distributed the ball well by throwing to nine different Bulldogs – A.J. Green (1 touchdown, 89 yards), Aron White (48 yards), Michael Moore (38 yards), Kenneth Harris (1 touchdown, 17 yards), Mohamed Massaquoi (16 yards), Demiko Goodman (16 yards), Kris Durham (10 yards), Knowshon Moreno (9 yards), and Brannan Southerland (6 yards). Blair Walsh also kicked a 50 yard field goal.

My defensive game ball goes to Darryl Gamble who had 2 interceptions for touchdowns. Rashad Jones also had 1 interception. Overall, the G-Day defensive held LSU in check and never allowed the Tigers to get in an offensive rhyme. They blitzed when appropriate and played with better control and less penalties.

Next week the Dawgs travel to Jacksonville, Florida for the game formerly known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. This year’s game is very significant because the winner will more than likely represent the eastern division in the SEC title game and be in prime position to make a run for the National Title if they can win the division and stay undefeated. Go Dawgs!
