Woody's Back

The Atlanta Hawks extended Coach Mike Woodson’s contract for an additional two-years. Woodson’s four year record as coach is 106 – 222 in the regular season and one playoff birth. I think the extension is a bad idea because the team has consistently underperformed during the regular season as player’s looked unprepared and we’ve failed to have a winning record in four years. Even if you give Woodson credit for the teams playoff play, his overall performance lacks something to desire because I feel like he doesn’t do a good job developing the team and players as Joe Johnson is still the only consistent offensive weapon, Josh Smith plays erratic, and Marvin Williams hasn’t lived up to his potential.

I was really hoping the Hawks would have went after a coach like Avery Johnson who has shown that he can coach players up and lead them to a great regular season record and consistently get a team to the playoffs.
