Hawks Win Playoff Game!

The Atlanta Hawks shocked the world and more importantly themselves as they won 102 to 93 against the Boston Celtics. The Birds finally showed their potential in front a sellout crowd of 19,725. Josh Smith (#5) played the game of his life, finally hitting threes (6 overall) and dunking over any and everybody. He was pure energy and the entire team and gym fed off him. Smith finished with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and a lot more creditablity than he started with. Rookie Al Horford* continued to play as man child and make a statement as to why he should be rookie of the year. Horford finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds while team captain Joe Johnson (#2) finally played like a two time all star, finishing with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Point guard Mike Bibby finally had a respectable payoff game, adding 12 pointss and 8 assists.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to watch the Baby Birds fly high, but I did see highlights and they looked great. More importantly, the crowd looked great and for the first time in a long time, the crowd came to cheer on the Hawks and not the other team. I'm proud that my Baby Birds are on the verge of growing up and living up to their potential and possibility this game will carry them through the series and make this a competitive series again.
