Suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in federal prison and three (3) years of probation for bankrolling the Bad Newz Kennels dog-fighting operation and participating in the brutal killings of six to eight dogs. The sentencing of Vick completes the rise and fall of one of the NFL’s most exciting and promising players. Vick’s fall from grace has been fast and unrelenting, as he has gone from #1 pick in the NFL draft, a certified media sensation, and current Falcons’ savior to a federally convicted felon. At this point, Vick’s future is foggy as he’s indefinitely suspended by the NFL and he still has pending state dog-fighting charges, which could lengthen his prison time.
