The Atlanta Hawks (20-30) have won 5 consecutive away games with a hard fought 106-105 win over the Golden State Warriors. The Hawks haven’t won 5 consecutive road games since Dominique Wilkins was in the starting line up in 1993-94. Once again the Baby Birds won with contributions from the starters and reserves. Josh Smith finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. Joe Johnson finished with 21 points, 11 assists, and 4 rebounds. Speedy Claxton contributed 12 points and 10 assists and Josh Childress continued his impressive play off the bench with 13 points and 8 rebounds.
It looks like the team is finally starting to gel and play as a unit. I guess it helps when everyone’s finally off the injured reserve list. If we can win our last two road games before the All-Star break, at Utah and Los Angeles respectively, the Baby Birds will be in good contention for the eighth playoff spot.
