It’s hard to believe, but I believe there are some folks in Atlanta who seriously want Michael Vick to be guilty of drug possession, so they don’t have to apologize for prematurely railroading him. Even after the Miami-Dade County police have determined that Vick was not in possession of drugs; people are alleging some overarching conspiracy to free Mike Vick of any wrongdoing. It’s really getting ridiculous because neither Vick nor the Atlanta Falcons organization have enough pull to quash a criminal investigation. Especially, something that allegedly happened at an international airport in another state. Let me put it this way, if you turn on the news, you’ll hear numerous stories about professional athletes (Tank Johnson and at least six of the Cincinnati Bengals) being arrested for allegedly doing wrong, especially when it relates to drugs. Most professional athletes don’t get special treatment.
People need to realize that Vick was either innocent or there was no probable cause to pursue legal matters against him. The Atlanta media has over hyped this story. They were quick to judge and have been slow to forgive. The only conspiracy involving Michael Vick is the Atlanta media sports writers attempt to run him out of town with constant articles berating his talent and mental capacity.
