It’s hard to believe, but the NCAA men’s basketball tournament is almost over. I correctly picked three of the remaining four teams. I picked Florida, UCLA, and Ohio State. I had UNC beating Georgetown, but the reemerging Hoyas are seeking renewed glory and couldn’t be stopped.
I normally don’t follow men’s college basketball, but filling out tournament brackets has become a yearly tradition. Of course the year I don’t enter a pool, is the year I do amazingly well at picking teams – go figure!
Moving on to the NBA, I’m glad I didn’t rush home from Dallas to watch the Hawks get beat by the Mavericks 104 to 97. Wubya invited me to game because he had extra tickets, but I had to decline as I was driving back from Dallas. After reading about the game, it appears the Hawks hung with the Mavs for three quarters, even taking the lead in the fourth, but failed to finish with wins.
I’m proud of the Baby Birds because they’ve shown heart since the loss of All-Star Joe Johnson. The team has stepped up their play and Josh Smith is finally starting to grow into the play scouts predicted he’d be.
