Good Bye to the Crown

Tonight was the opening night of “Good Bye to the Crown”, a one-act play written by Ernest Kinoy. The play is about Peggy, a little girl that has an imaginary friend who is a clown. The imaginary clown helps Peggy deal with the fact that her father has passed away.

My little brother Bean played the clown, and he along with the rest of the 6th and 7th graders in the cast and crew did a wonderful job. It takes so much determination and practice to prepare for a play, and they did an amazing job performing. This was Bean’s first lead character and he did a great job bring the clown to life. He showed a perfect mixture of joy and compassion, as he helped little Peggy understand that her father wasn’t coming home.

This was definitely the first step in a successful acting character for Bean.
