#9 Georgia 30, #15 Auburn 31

Auburn is always a tough game because like Florida and Georgia Tech, it's a rivary game. The game is all emotional, it doesn't matter what the rankings are or which big name players are on the field - the game comes down to who wants it more, and Auburn definitely wanted it more. This lost was a big let down to me. Although Georgia played their heart out and never gave up; they made so many mental mistakes, and they just didn't play like a team coming off an off week. Plus, Auburn got some questionable calls (the two late timeouts after Georgia sacked them big).

D.J. Shockely's (pictured) performed wonderfully in his first game back. It stinks that he's only here for one season. No disrespect to David Greene, he was amazing, but just imagine if Shockley had started all four years as quarterback. He went 20 of 36 for 304 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 40 yards. His stats should've been higher, but once again Georgia wide receivers dropped catchable balls in key situations. Thomas Brown rushed for 74 yards, tight end Leonard Pope caught 102 yards, and Mohamed Massaquoi had 108 yards receiving. Brandon Coutu also had 2 field goals.

Next Week: The Bulldogs play the Kentucky Wildcats. A win sends them to the SEC Championship game. Thankfully, Georgia is still in the hunt since South Carolina beat Florida.

Unless it is a sure fire win--who isn't our rival?

I believe UGA only has four true rivals:

1. Florida - The World's Largest
Cocktail
2. Georgia Tech - Just Plain Hate
3. Auburn - The South's Oldest
Riviary
4. Tennessee - This is our newest
foe for good cause - who really
likes Rocky Top?

I don't really consider Vandy, South Carolina, or any other SEC West team as rivals in the traditional sense because no body gets up for them. However, they are big games since they're conference games.

Some old school UGA fans may think Clemson is a rival, but since we don't play them regularly, I don't consider them.

its hard to win when you
a. cant stop the run
b. turn the ball over a more than the other team.
the Dawgs gave this game away to me and played very flat and lackluster football.
