Uga VI - The Star of the Law School Tailgate
It's taken me over three years, but I've finally got a chance to meet Uga VI at the annunal Law School Student - Alumni Tailgate. Swamps and I hiked up East Campus road at 8:45 a.m. just for the opportunity to meet the "Nations Top Mascot", and it almost didn't happen. As soon as Uga VI appeared, the law babies and toddlers took it upon themselves to surround Uga VI while their parents took pictures of them. The only problem was once the pictures were taken, the children didn't move out the way. The unorganized appearance got so crazy that Uga VI decided to head back to his private golf cart and pray that someone would drive him away. That's why Uga VI is laying on the back of the chart, he was ready to go. Lucky for me, I got behind some parents who had enough sense to move their children, so I jump in to get may picture taken with the world's most famous dog. Our brief encounter was cool. He laid, I petted, we took the picture and I moved on. It was worth the three plus years.
The rest of the law school tailgate was good. The blue grass band provided great music, except for them deciding to play "Rocky Top". The crowd actually booed them. The fresh air BBQ was tasty, especially the pulled pork and baked beans. Swamps finally got to meet some of my friends, which made her happy, and the rest of the pre-game activities were enjoyable and beautiful as we lavished in the shaded trees of the north campus quad. After the tailgate, Swamps and I walked down the hill to meet up with Slick, Wubbya, and Swim Fan so we could enjoy the Bulldogs beat up on the Razorbacks. See below for detailed information on the game. I must have gotten use to the evening games because the 12:30 p.m. sun was hot. I tried to bring an empty water bottle into the stadium, but the guards wouldn't let me, so I had to pay $3.50 for a bottle of Power Aid. I don't understand why I can't bring an empty bottle into the stadium.

Good for you. UGA VI is just lazy he needs a good workout. lol. i am confused as why the band would play rocky top. it sounds like they had no respect for the Bulldogs.
So glad you got to meet Uga!!!
The TRUE Uga encounter story:
STF and Swamps did head north at 8:45AM!! All in order to catch a few snaps of Uga at the law school tailgate. Arriving at 9:10ish, STF was disappointed by no sign of Uga. So we grabbed two screwdrivers and began mingling. In the far corner of the field there was a sudden storm of tailgaters. We immediately made a bee line to the area, expecting to catch a glimpse of the famed Uga. STF quickly threw his drink into my hand and deemed me useless for all other purposes, except a hinderance to his ultimate goal, dove into the crowd head first. I can't deny there may have been some elbows in the mix. The rest of the story we have to leave up to STF's account, because the path he took was quickly closed in by other anxious fans and I was left to nurse the screwdrivers over in a corner--not that I fully minded, albeit they were virgin screwdrivers. (you can hold your comments--it was was 9AM!)
I am without personal knowledge to admit or deny the allegations set forth in Swamps anonymous comments.
What's a "virgin screwdrivers" anyway?
If I get a dog, he has to have a Georgia "G" shirt.
A virgin screwdriver is pretty much just orange juice, and ice if you please! Thanks for sharing your $3.50 powerade with me!! If I get a dog he is going to dress up every year for halloween, maybe as a tooth.
