Handwriter for a Day

My computer A/C adaptor died today at the beginning of Real Estate Transactions. As a result, I was forced to take handwritten notes, which is not an easy task in your typical law school class. Most of the professors speak at a feverous pace, intertwining complicated legal concepts and oftentimes doubling back to previous points, so your handwritten notes have all types of arrows connecting varying points and it gets somewhat complicated. That’s why I like to take notes on the computer because it’s easy to place the cursor wherever you want, i.e. you can organize your notes as you take them as oppose to having to do (more of) it after class. Lucky for me, my Real Estate professor speaks at a moderate pace and was able to jot down most of his lecture and kept my arrows to a controlled minimum.

I was not so lucky in my Employment Discrimination class. My professor has a deadly combination – she speaks at a fast to moderate pace and she incorporates everything into the lecture, i.e. anything she says or any student says could be double backed to, which made my note organization for that class poor. Thankfully, I brought my handwriting “A-game” to my externship class.

After my classes I traveled to Circuit City to see about replacing my A/C adaptor. Since I purchased an extended warranty when I bought my computer, I didn’t it would be difficult to replace the A/C adaptor – I was wrong. First, unbeknown to me, I purchased a warranty that doesn’t cover A/C adaptors, so I had to buy a brand new A/C adaptor and it wasn’t cheap. There goes the I-Pod Mini I wanted. However, on the positive note – the A/C adaptor I purchased is a universal one, so if I every buy a new computer the adaptor will be compatible.

Tomorrow I’ll be back to typing my notes.
