#6 Georgia 45, Buffalo 23

Todd Gurley did not disappoint in his debut as a Georgia Bulldog.  The freshman running electrified the home crowd with his 100-yard kick return, 100 total rushing yards on 8 carries, and 3 total touchdowns.  The season just started, but the Bulldog Nation may have already forgotten about Isaiah Crowell.  Fellow freshman tailback Keith Marshall showed productive signs, rushing for 46 yards on 10 carries, and Ken “Boo” Malcome contributed 32 yards on 6 carries.

The Bulldog Nation questioned the strength of the offensive line coming into the game, but the big boys held their own and allowed UGA to net 485 total yards.  Aaron Murray started off sloppy, but settled down and finished 15 of 26 with 258 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Unfortunately, Murray continued to hold onto to ball too long.  He has to overcome this if Georgia hopes to challenge for the SEC title.

The G-Day Defense played a vanilla defense and executed poorly.  They gave up too many quarterback keepers down the middle and wide receivers were allowed to run open through the middle.  I would like to think that they kept it simple so as to not tip their hat to Missouri, but I would have liked them to be more dominating.

All-in-all, it was a good day Between the Hedges.  Dr. Smiles and I accompanied Wubya and Artful T to the game, so it was great to see the 2012-2013 Dawgs in person.
