Goodbye, Good Luck

Earlier this month the University of Georgia dismissed superstar freshman running back Isaiah Crowell from the team.  It is a shame that he is gone, but UGA had no choice since he was carrying around guns without a permit.  Even worst, they had scratched out serial numbers.  Why in the world did he have illegal guns? It simply makes no sense.  He is the reigning SEC Freshman of the year.  If he needed protection, then all he had to do was tell Coach Mark Richt, and I am sure he could have gotten him security.

Although I hate to see someone squander an amazing opportunity, Crowell was well aware of the dangers of continued misconduct.  Coach Richt said he talked to him after the positive drug test last year, AJC writers talked about his deteriorating situation, and I even wrote him a heartfelt letter on December 2, 2011.  He may have not read my letter, but explicitly told Crowell that the Bulldogs would replace him if he continued to make bad decisions.

My beloved Dawgs have lost 3 tailbacks in two summers – Caleb King, Washan Ealey, and now highly recruited Isaiah Crowell.  I guess the Ken Malcolm and Keith Marshall era is starting sooner than expected.  Go Dawgs!
