I normally don’t follow the regular season of NCAA men’s basketball, but like many causal fans, I complete a bracket and follow March Madness. I picked the North Carolina Tar Heels (33-4) to win the tournament and tonight they’ll have an opportunity to prove me right as they take on Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans (31-6).
As a causal fan I’ve always liked North Carolina’s basketball program, especially their Carolina Blue, White, and Navy Blue. The admiration started back in the day when I saw footage of the 1982 national title game featuring Dean Smith, game “Most Outstanding Player” James Worthy, Sam Perkins, and a young and hairy Michael Jordan. Throughout the years Carolina basketball has always had a swagger that I wish the University of Georgia basketball program could duplicate.
