Last night was the NBA Slam Dunk Contest and it was awesome. The competition has gone from purely athletic ability to a mix of athletic ability and showmanship. The 2009 edition was probably the most entertaining in years. My favorite two dunks were Dwight Howard’s 12 foot dunk and Nate Robinson’s "Krypto Nate" dunk over “Superman” Dwight Howard.
Robinson’s dunk was so amazing because he’s 5’6 and he jumped over a 6’10 man. It was pure athletic ability and it was a statement that some of us short people still have hops.
