The past week was really busy as Dr. Smiles and I packed our Cream City apartment for the big move down south. It’s hard to believe, but our departure is almost here and we’re both really excited about the possibilities the future will bring. The Cream City has been really good to the both of us – allowing us great opportunities to grow as individuals and as a family, but ultimately we decided to return to home.
After we loaded the U-Haul, Dr. Smiles and I travelled an hour and a half to the Windy City for our friend’s big fat Indian wedding. It was a beautiful occasion as we celebrated Danny and Sharon’s union. I wish them the best of luck and love as they start their journey together.
After a night of dancing, I started road trip part 1 as I travelled from the Windy City to Chemical Valley to G-Vegas. The trip lasted over 16 hours and I drove over 1,000 miles in a 17-foot U-Haul truck. I guess you could say it was just me, a truck, and an iPod. Thankfully, I was able to navigate the truck without accident and arrive in Chemical Valley, the halfway point between Cream City and G-Vegas.
After a good night sleep, I jumped back in the truck and continued the 6 hour journey from Chemical Valley to G-Vegas. The road trip provided me with great nature scenes from corn fields, grassy hills, mountains, and sleepy farm communities between West Virginia and North Carolina.
