The AJC reports that imprisoned Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has filed for bankruptcy protection due to his “precarious financial position.” According to documents filed in federal court in Virginia, Vick alleges debts ranging from $10 to $50 million. Vick lists seven (7) major creditors, including the Falcons, who he owes approximately $12.8 million.
As a Vick fan, it’s hard for me to fully understand his fall from grace because he not only fell fast, he fall hard. In less than a year, Vick went from being one of the NFL’s most exciting players to being a convicted felon serving 23-months in prison for charges related to dog-fighting. I hope Vick has an opportunity to redeem himself.
