Atlanta Rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris Jr. pled guilty to two charges of illegally possessing firearms and another for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The AJC reports that the self proclaimed “King of the South” brokered an extraordinary plea agreement, where he’ll pay a $100,000 fine, be confined in his house for one year, serve less than one year in prison and perform 1,000 hours of community service telling children about the pitfalls of crime, drugs, and gangs. T.I. will also have to encourage children to respect the law.
After sentencing, T.I. was quoted as saying, “I’m not looking forward to being incarcerated. I have a long road of redemption to travel…I realize completely I violated the law, and I take it very seriously.”
