The race to the White House official kicked off yesterday with the Iowa Caucus. Democratic Iowans caucused in record numbers to support Senator Barack Obama with 38% of the vote. John Edwards came in second place with 30% of the vote and Senator Hillary Clinton finished third with 29% of the vote.
Iowans took the first steps toward creating positive change in American politics by supporting Obama’s bid for the White House. Obama differs from the other democratic candidates because he’s willing to work with republican lawmakers to actually get things done in Washington, as opposed to other candidates who are more experienced at promoting and fighting partisan battles, which result in nothing getting done in the nation’s capital.
Obama’s next challenge is winning the New Hampshire primary. I encourage all residents of New Hampshire to Barack the Vote!
