Lost Sports Weekend

This was probably the first time in five years that I didn’t watch either the Georgia Bulldogs or the Atlanta Falcons play football. The central reason was Black Platinum paid Swamps and I a visit and the other reason was I lacked interested. Last weeks lost left me discouraged and disappointed. Georgia’s lost to an unranked South Carolina continued the Bulldogs’ tradition of having a superior team to the opposition and still losing. I’ve been a hardcore Dawg fan for the last five years, and I’m just tired of seeing my beloved UGA lay eggs on the big stage. We should own Florida, except for last year, and we shouldn’t be losing to Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt.

I’m boycotting, at least for this week, writing about the stats of the Western Carolina game because the Dawgs get no credit for beating such a low tier team. Georgia can redeem themselves next week with a win over #16 Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium on ESPN.

In the same vein, I’m boycotting writing about the stats for the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars game. I didn’t watch the game, but Miguel Lebanon reports that although the Birds offense under Joey Harrington was efficient for the first half, they did nothing during the second half. They continue to under perform and unless they kick it up a notch, this is going to be a long season.
