Sekou’s Rumors

The NBA Draft is one day away and apparently NBA teams are going crazy to make moves. My beloved Atlanta Hawks are no different. The AJC's Sekou Smith referenced several possible moves the Hawks could take during the draft. Below are some of the highlights:

  1. Hawks trade the 11th pick for Seattle’s Luke Ridnour. Smith says this rumor is very possible. I don't know much about Ridnour, so I can't commit on this possible move.

  2. Hawks trade the 3rd and 11th pick and some players for Phoenix’s Amare Stoudemire. Smith says this one’s not likely, but he has a reliable source that says keep an open mind about this possible trade. If the Hawks complete this trade , they'd be instant playoff contenders in the East with both Joe Johnson and Stoudemire. I like this trade because Stoudemire is young, athletic, and a dominating force around the basket. Unfortunately, the Hawks still wouldn't have a legitimate point guard, and Stoudemire has been largely effective with a MVP point guard, Steve Nash, distributing the ball.

  3. Although Sekou is not completely sure who the Hawks will draft tomorrow, or if they'll even keep the 3rd and 11th pick, he thinks they should draft Ohio State point guard Mike Conley Jr. with the 3rd pick.

The Suns have reportedly announced that there is no truth to the Amare trade. That's unfortunate because he would've been a great addition to the Hawks.
