Emerald City Wedding

I returned from Seattle, Washington yesterday. It was a wonderful trip highlighted by 6’8’s and Blondie’s wedding. I arrived in Seattle on Thursday night in time to attend the bachelor party. First, I checked into the W Hotel located at the corner of 4th and Seneca. The W is a trendy upscale hotel catering to the young professional. It had the hip lobby / lounge, with a fireplace, candles, oversized sofas, and modern art work. I shared a room with a friend and it was awesome because it had two comfy oversized regular beds, a large flat screen TV, and lots of cool art work.

The bachelor party was cool, it involved going on a waterfront cruise, eating dinner downtown and going to several bars. The Seahawks had just finished playing so there were lots of people downtown showing there Seahawk pride. It was weird because I’m only use to people rocking Falcons gear, so seeing a city with lots of Seahawks stuff was strange.

On Friday morning I awoke early and explored the city on my own. I ate breakfast at a local eatery and walked to the Pike’s Place Market and watched as the fishermen threw purchased fish to one another. The flowers at the market were beautiful and cheap and it was cool to see various people from different nationalities. After my solo adventure, I met up with the bride and another friend and ate lunch. After lunch, I hung out with groom for a few hours as he ran errands and picked up the wedding rings.

The rehearsal dinner was Friday night at the cute little mountain church with a great view of the city and Mt. Reiner. The rehearsal went well, I held up my responsibility as the sole brides-man and the rehearsal dinner was held at an arbortorium, i.e. a tree park.

The wedding was beautiful. The bride looked beautiful and happy. She wore a simple white wedding gown with beads and a train. They kept the ceremony short and sweet and got everyone to the reception pretty quick. The wedding colors were red and black, with the guys wearing black tuxes with red ties and girls wearing black gowns with a red stripe. The reception was held at the Stankonia, a moored ferryboat. The boat provided a wonderful view of the Space Needle and the Seattle skyline. The food was delicious and they even had a DJ for dancing.

On the day after the wedding I hung out with Lions of Judah crew and we hit up China Town, Pioneer Place, Pike’s Place Market, the first ever Starbucks, Seattle Pier, Alki Beach and Discovery Park. Discovery Park was amazing because of the gorgeous views of Seattle. The sun was setting over the sound and I even got to see two baby sea lions.

This was a great vacation because of the wedding and sight seeing.
