Happy Jackie Robinson Day!

Today marks the 59th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the major league baseball color barrier when he took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson is an American hero because of what he did and how he handled it. Just imagine you're the one intergrating baseball, traveling city-to-city and being the only Black person on the field and possibly the only Black person in the stadium. People are calling you horrible names, throwing trash at you, and threatening your family. Robinson was more than just a spokesman for himself and his family, he was a spokesman for all of Black America; he was Black America.

Jackie Robinson thank you for providing a blueprint on how to be a superstar athelete, a spokesperson for your sport, and a spokeperson for your race. Your brilliance is missed. God bless # 42!
