The College Football season has been over for about two weeks now and all the Bowl match-ups have been announced. #1 Southern California and #2 Texas will rightfully play for the National Title. I’ll admit, earlier in the season I questioned whether these two teams were worthy of playing in the big game, but after actually watching USC destroy UCLA and Texas manhandle Colorado, I jumped on their respective bandwagons and fully endorse them playing for the title. But as I suggested on Monday, November 7, wouldn’t it be cool if College Football had an 8 team tournament. Here’s who’d be in the tournament (the top 8 BCS teams), and this is who they’d play in the first round.- Southern California
- Texas
- Penn State
- Ohio State
- Oregon
- Notre Dame
- Georgia
- Miami
The National Division:
#1 Southern California v. #8 Miami
#3 Penn State v. #6 Notre Dame
The American Division:
#2 Texas v. #7 Georgia
# 4 Ohio State v. #5 Oregon

i fully agree with you on your concept and believe that it sould be a 10 team play-off and each game could be a "bowl" game and the more the teams win the more money it gains for its school. see the sample below of a 4 team playoff
Round 1:
Rose Bowl
#1 Southern California v. #8 Miami
Sugar Bowl
#3 Penn State v. #6 Notre Dame
National Title Game
Fiesta Bowl
Miami vs. Notre Dame
with that format the major bowl sponsors dont loose out and the teams that make it dont loose out either it will actually be a championship series.
It's very surprising that you leave out #2 Texas.
