The Atlanta Falcons lost to the Chicago Bears 16 – 3 in a hard hitting and cold game. At times, the temperature reached -4 degrees and the Falcons looked unaccustomed to the wintery weather. The first half of the game was purely a defensive struggle, with both teams having to settle for field goals, and after halftime, the Bears made offensive adjustments by playing recently returning quarterback Rex Grossman, while the Falcons couldn’t seem to get anything going, especially the run game.
Aside from overall defense, the Falcons didn’t really have anything to hang their hat on. Michael Vick went 13 of 32 for 122 yards, 2 interceptions (1 of them wasn’t his fault – Michael Jenkins got the mess hit out him and coughed up the ball and a Bears’ lineman grab it before it hit the ground), and rushed for 35 yards. Warrick Dunn had 81 rushing yards, while Brian Finneran had 75 receiving yards and “Rowdy” Roddy White had 19 receiving yards.
