#13 Georgia 34, #3 Louisiana State 14

Two words describe Georgia’s performance at tonight’s Southeastern Conference Title game: TOTAL DOMINATION! The Bulldogs are the SEC Champions and we’re headed to the Sugar Bowl! The G-Unit defense looked amazing, sacking LSU quarterbacks four times and recording two interceptions. Quarterback D.J. Shockley looked composed leading the offense going 6 of 12 for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also had one rushing touchdown. The three-headed Bulldog running rushed for 138 total yards. Thomas Brown had 62 yards, Kraig Lumpkin had 38 yards, and Danny Ware had 28 yards. Although Georgia didn’t throw the ball often, the wideouts caught the passes that mattered. Sean Bailey had his best game of the season, receiving 74 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman sensation Mohammad Massaquoi had 15 yards, super sized tight end Leonard Pope had 17 yards, and wideout Bryan McClendon had a spectacular punt block that sparked the Bulldog total domination. Brandon Coutu also had two field goals. Congratulations team – I’m proud to be a part of the red and black!

I hope the national media gets the picture – the University of Georgia Bulldogs run the SEC! It’s not LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, or Florida. Georgia has gone to the SEC title game 3 out of the last 4 years, and we’ve brought the championship back to Athens 2 of 3 times. Coach Mark Richt is amazing; he’s a cool 16 – 2 away from the Hedges and over the last five years, UGA is the SEC’s winningest program. We are a legitimate BCS National Title contender. Give us our props!

The SEC's winningest programs the past five years:

Team Record Pct. SEC titles
1. Georgia 60-16 .787 2
2. LSU 58-18 .773 2
3. Auburn 55-20 .733 1
4. Tennessee 52-23 .693 0
5. Florida 51-23 .689 1

I would like to say big ups to the Tigers on a season well done. They overcame the hardships of Hurricane Katrina and battled through a tough SEC schedule.
Next Month: The Bulldogs travel to the relocated Sugar Bowl in Atlanta to take on the Big East Champion West Virginia Mountaineers. Go Dawgs!

Big ups to Texas and USC for the convincing wins on Sat. They deserve to play for the National Title. I'm looking forward to the Rose Bowl.
