Georgia fans everywhere got a measure of revenge as the Bulldogs squeezed one passed the Gamecocks. I’m not sure why Georgia always struggle against Carolina, but we do. It doesn’t matter how good we are and how mad they are, they seem to partially have our number, although they normally don’t win.

As far as today’s game – UGA looked flat. The offensive play calling was repetitive and the zone defense wasn’t working. It seemed as if Georgia only ran three plays: the halfback draw, the quarterback bootleg to the outside, and the outside halfback toss. I picked it up, South Carolina picked it up and as a result the offense struggled, which lead to Shockley making key mistakes. He went 8 of 17 with 112 yards, with two interceptions. He did have a 15 yard rushing touchdown. On a bright note: Georgia had 238 yards rushing. Thomas Brown had 144 yards.
The overall defense played well; especially when USC attempted to run the ball. Greg Blue had some nasty hits. The only drawback – they tried to play out the zone, and Spurrier had his quarterback throwing down the middle and Georgia had no answer. USC’s QB went 22 of 34 for 236 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Next Week: Louisiana-Monroe travels to Athens.
